Matta was founded by Cristina Gitti. She has always been passionate about the numerous possibilities of handmade design. The fact that no two pieces are the same remains Matta's definition of luxury. Her worldwide travels inspire the textiles. The Collection combines age-old techniques with spirited new colors
The Dupatta Shawl
The dupatta is inspired by the original Indian scarves. Threads of cotton and silk are hand spun and woven on looms, resulting in a luxurious and lightweight fabric. It takes several days for skilled artisans to weave each piece by loom, hand-tie the tassels, and stitch them on one by one.
